What a difference it makes to look through a shiny, clean window out onto the world. Everything seems clearer and colors seem brighter. Contrast that with a window that hasn't been tended to in a while - dust, dirt and general dimness comes on slowly and almost imperceptibly over the course of days, weeks, months or years. Less light makes it inside through that window and affects the mood inside the home.
Life is like that too...when we don't tend to ourselves because we are rushing from work to housework to family and social responsibilities, our internal windows get pretty dingy. The dimness creeps in silently until one day you just are exhausted.
So, figure out what keeps your internal windows clean and bright. Music, dance, prayer, art and laughter are like the window cleaners of your soul. When you take the time to shine your windows, the world seems like a kinder, more colorful, beautiful place. So let that light shine in!

Homemade Window Cleaner
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 cups water
3 drops peppermint essential oil
Place all ingredients in a spray bottle and shake well to combine.
Spray on window and clean with a microfiber cloth or newspaper. If you don't prefer peppermint, try any essential oil you like.
